She followed Carmilla outside and put her free hand in her pocket, brushing the few contents between her gloved fingers. They would stay relatively safe there for the ride, particularly if she buttoned the pockets. Doing so, she clenched her fingers a few times nervously, shivering slightly as a cold burst of air met her through the doorway as they stepped outside. Aella remained quiet as she listened to Carmilla's voice once the arrived by the motorcycle, and her careful golden eyes observed the older female's actions. She took the helmet that was offered to her and placed it upon her head as the motorcycle owner mounted the vehicle.
Aella tucked her hair behind her ears and pulled it back into a ponytail, using the band around her wrist to tie it together. She'd not been able to brush or wash it for a few days, and it had grown unkempt. She hoped that she'd be able to change that if she made it to the school she was chasing rumors to find. Nodding slightly, half to acknowledge Carmillas words and half to test to make sure the helmet was secure upon her head, Aella stepped forward to the bike, contemplating how she could sit on it easiest. It would have been better if she weren't restraining her wings, but there was no way she'd let herself not. Not somewhere the public eye could see.
Biting her lip, Aella hopped slightly and landed lightly on the motorcycle. She bit back a discomforted sound as some of her feathers pulled the wrong way. Shifting in her seat for a few moments, she adjusted herself to a livable position before lightly placing her fingers atop Carmilla's shoulders.
"J..just let me know if I clench my hands too tightly...people say I do it a lot.."

Carmilla watched as Aella did her 'pre-flight check' on all of her worldly possessions, IE, that which was in her pocket. Once more, she couldn't help but feel admiration for the kid, coping so well with being on her own. She almost hoped her ideas about Aella were right and that she was a mutant. At least then she would be taken in by the school and given a safe haven. If not... well Carm would wish her the best nonetheless but if she had to, she'd see if she could find the girl an alternate place to go. Carmilla started the bike and waited for Aella to get settled. The girl warned her about gripping too tightly for which Carm turned back and offered a smile. When she spoke she spoke up, making sure Aella could hear her through the helmet. "Don't worry. Grip as hard as you need to. It's not like you have talons or something. I fyou ever feel nervous or scared, don't be hesitant to shift your grip to around my waist or just let me know to back off." She wasn't used to having a rider with her, she'd only ever had one, in fact, when she was in vehicle training, so this would be a bit of a new experience for Carm as well. Right before taking off she remembered her own hair and quickly tie dit up with an elastic so that it wouldn't be flying at Aella's face the entire trip. She gunned the motor and started the trip, slowly at first to give the girl a chance to get used to it, but gradually picking up speed. They were still a long ways to New York but at least they wer enow on their way there.
