He smiled and tapped Skye on the shoulder, having her take off as well. He didn't want to look down to see how fast he was going. Since he was secretly scared of heights, it would freak him out. Instead, he looked out to Alyssa with a smile.
Come on, Skye. Let's catch up to her.
The Flygon flapped its wings quickly, picking up speed and racing towards the other Flygon. Skye also had a smile, interested in this little contest. It could see the fountain up ahead, meaning Shade's part of the race.
Shade, from the fountain, could see the two Flygons coming closer. He groaned and stood on all fours, picking himself up from lying down. He readied his Night Slash and waited for them to get closer. He watched as Alyssa's Flygon came closer. Then came Ruby's Flygon. He rushed at Skye and used Night Slash.
Ruby's eyes went wide as he saw Shade attack him instead of Alyssa. He couldn't really be mad at the Absol though. It was his instructions. Skye easily avoided it. But, Shade used it again and again. However, again and again, Skye was able to avoid. Finally, Shade went after Alyssa's Flygon twice.
Inside, Scan and Jet listened to Alyssa's pokemon speak. Jet nodded, concluding that Ruby and Alyssa were pretty much in the same boat when it came to family. However, they knew Ruby didn't like his father very much. So, they didn't have a motive to end it quickly for his sake.
"Ruby's fighting this war for his friends. Who knows? He may even fight for Alyssa from now on, seeing how fast they became friends." Scan grinned and Jet shook his head. Looking out the door, the Weavile blinked and tilted his head. "I wonder how their 'race' is going. Knowing Ruby, he isn't winning." Blitz, Ruby's Luxray, let out a chuckle.

Alyssa was crouched low over Flygon’s neck, keeping her arms crossed rather tightly around the green skin. Flying didn’t really bother her in the slightest, in fact, the speed at which she moved, and the wind whipping past her skin gave her a fleeting feeling that she was invincible. Although she was clinging to Flygon for what would probably be close to considered dear life, the feeling of flying with him was amazing. She recalled a time where she once flew everywhere, but now she had to be stealthier and think before she simply wanted to fly somewhere. Sometimes, walking places was more effective and less ‘dangerous’. She was happy Pastoria was Nox land, simply because it allowed her to have some fun with this.
Alyssa’s cerulean eyes narrowed as she approached the Absol waiting by the fountain. So that’s where Ruby had left his pokemon. Its insturctions were the same as Amons – to use Night Slash at the two trainers atop the Flygon as they approached. The Disaster pokemon loosed the attack, first aiming at his trainer for the numerous blows. Alyssa couldn’t help but feel a bit surprised at that. She felt that initially a pokemon may be a bit biased and trying to help it’s trainer win, not the opposite from what she expected. I guess Shade is – her thoughts were cut off as the red-eyed pokemon turned to her as well and let loose a short barrage of the dark attack. ”Dodge it, Flygon!”
The green dragon-type pokemon zipped to the side, sending Alyssa dangerously to the side of its neck as well. She was kept in place by the powerful grip of the Flygon’s clawed hands curled protectively around her legs, but she had to admit that nearly falling off – or what she felt like was such – to the ground rather far below. With a simple tilt in the opposite direction to evade another round of Night Slash, Alyssa was back in her correct, balanced position.
Flygon zipped to the invisible line that marked the boundary where the Absol’s clawed, hind paws were planted in the ground. He touched the tips of his rounded feet to the ground before pivoting on a dime and pushing off again for the home stretch, in essence. As soon as she was in the air again, Alyssa looked to the side, she saw Ruby and Skye next to them. Flygon was bigger than Skye, she had to flap her wings quicker than him to keep up, whereas he had larger, more powerful flaps. A smirk spread across the white-haired trainers face as she narrowed her eyes challengingly.
”Alright Flygon...” she said, quietly enoguh so Ruby probably couldn’t hear over the rain, but Flygon could. ”Ease up a little...we want to have energy for the finishing sprint, eh?” she asked. The Mystic pokemon’s wingbeats eased, and he dropped back a bit...not too far, though. He stayed within the length of Skye’s tail as they made their way back to Amon, who stood powerfully and ready, having refused to lay down or sit as he waited loyally for his trainer.
As soon as the two trainers came into view over the treetops, Amon readied himself to loose a barrage of attacks. The black crescent horn on his head glowed red-violet as he raised it, taking a deep breath before slashing his head back and forth across the air, letting loose a ceaseless wave of Night Slashes of all angles. He wasn’t aiming for one target in particular, he was aiming for both, and the small smace between them was the best place to aim for that to be successful. A large, powerful gust of wind buffeting the trainers head-on accompanied his attack, adding a bit of an element to it, as though he had whipped up a Razor Wind as well.
Swampert nodded a bit and stepped back from the dish of food after he took a last handful and eating it. He lowered himself to the ground, crossing his large, muscled forearms beneath his chin. The black fins sticking up from his head were trembling slightly. Although he wasn’t in the water at all, his ability to predict upcoming storms had grown as he had trained more. What could be considered the start of a frown appeared on the Mud Fish pokemon’s face. This was bad, the wheather outside was starting to get pretty nasty, and the trainers were still out there.
At the same moment, Daybreak’s head poked up from her purple body. The red gem on her forehead glowed. She had sensed the future thanks to the changes in air currents being registered by her delicate forked tail. ”~Alyssa fights for the war to end as peacefully and quickly as possible...but that is an admirable standpoint of Ruby’s...”~ she stood and stretched as she projected her voice into the heads of the pokemon around her, using her telepathy. Sitting atop Cannons head rather than laying on it, she crouched to nibble at some of the food Cannon had provided for her. Communicating telepathically again, she continued.
”~I just hope they finish soon. Swampert and I both sensed it...the storm outside is growing much worse...”~
