Alyssa felt her stomach flip a bit as Flygon angled more sharply downwards towards the mainland, the humming of his wings creating a soothing sound in spite of the sudden descent. Moments later, her Pokémon righted himself, hovering above the ground so she could dismount. Hopping off of his back easily, Alyssa sighed and looked up at him. His eyes remained clear thanks to the protective red lenses, and despite the flight through Sinnoh they were brimming with energy. The green dragon-type pokemon was hovering up and down excitedly, looking around. It had been a while since they were in Sinnoh. The last time she was here with him – if her memory served her – was when she had first met Ruby in Pastoria City. But now they weren’t in the constantly rainy, marshy place. Rather, Veilstone. Sinnoh’s city of lights as some people called it. The bars and casinos were well-liked, and Alyssa found that many Nox members that wanted to drink or gamble their sorrows of war away came here. Hopefully I won’t run in to any drunks… she thought, suppressing a grimace. Although she doubted it would happen, a danger to women of any age was a man that thought he could take advantage of her.
It’s not as though Im helpless… she thought, the voice within her head reflecting the hard expression on her face. Looking up at the Mystic pokemon that hummed excitedly beside her, she smiled a bit, placing her hand on the side of his neck. He looked down at her, tipping his head to the side curiously. ”You’re rather energetic today…what’s up, huh?” He closed his eyes and called out his name a few times in what Alyssa assumed was an answer – a good one at that, based on the smiling expression that accompanied his voice. ”I’ll give you a break and see if I can let you out later…how about that?” The dragon nodded eagerly and landed finally. Reaching to her belt, Alyssa snapped off the Timer Ball and held it flat in her hand. ”Flygon, return…” she said softly, as the pokeball opened and called back the green pokemon with a red flash of energy. The dragon Pokémon vanished within a few seconds, leaving Alyssa standing alone in a city she’d not visited in a while. I just hope the bar isn’t too crowded… she thought, shaking her head slightly. Tucking her white hair behind her ears, she headed towards the bar – which was luckily separated from the casino, unlike the one in Mauville.
Pulling her gloves up past her elbows again, Alyssa made her way to the Veilstone bar, slipping inside easily and looking around. Her eyes found a semi-circular, corner-booth of a table at the far end, just about twelve feet from the bar itself. Nodding some, she headed that way, out of the main area and around the people that were dancing to the relatively low (thankfully) music. Hoenn’s Leader slid into the booth and crossed one leg over the other, facing the entrance. She glanced up to watch people come through for a moment before picking up the drink menu from the center of the table.
What to get…that’s the question now…

Pushing his cape out of his way, Lance walked with his head held up high. It had been a while since he could walk out in the open with no worries about Lux hunting him down and throwing him in prison. Sinnoh’s city of lights was a haven for Nox supporters such as himself, so he had no problems walking out in the open with his usual attire on, much to his delight. Of course the trouble with being recognized for who you are meant that your reputation followed with you.
Lance had arrived in the morning in Veilstone and once word of his arrival spread (how the hell so quickly), he had been receiving challenges from all those who would battle against the Dragon champion. Even here in Nox, where he lost his official title in the eyes of the pokemon league, people still admired and respected him as the champion. Their burning desire to best the champion and claim the fame that came with it was surprisingly… refreshing. It had been too long since he had seen such pure ambition and determination, much too long. He felt a bit of nostalgia at the thought of time past, of one particular trainer. His eyes were the fiercest and his desire the greatest. Oh how he longed to meet Red once again in a pokemon battle. It was a regret that he remained in Lux, but Lance had faith the young man would eventually realize the truth about Lux, he would make sure of that.
Even as he was walking down the street, the various whispers and gossiping about him caught his ears. Some were explaining his string of victories today, others questioning his identity and more than a few females commenting on his looks. He couldn’t help but grin delightfully. Lance’s ego was definitely gaining a boost as he made his way along. He had certainly caused a scene today with those strings of battles since the morning, and more importantly his string of victories. He had fun today, the first in a long time, but he had to admit he felt exhausted. Luckily one of those challengers had recommended a bar here in the city for him to relax in. So following the directions the man had given him he found himself standing in front of said bar.
Without a moment to waste he entered. Upon entering he quickly noted the atmosphere here. It was surprisingly relaxing. He wasn’t one for bars in general and he had his doubts about this place but he was pleasantly surprised. Walking towards the bar he looked around, and more than a few inside the bar returned the gesture. Seems like I really did cause a scene today. He thought. It was at the bar that his eyes caught the unusual white-coloured hair of a certain female sitting alone in a booth. He moved closer to gain a better view and upon reaching the booth he saw someone he had not expected to see. ”Why if it isn’t Alyssa Akiyama. Fancy meeting you here, now isn’t it.” [/style] [style=font-family: arial; font-size: 9px; text-align: center; text-transform: uppercase;]TAGS, Alyssa NOTES, Love the vibe... Alyssa’s fingers idly skirted across the top of the drink menu, the paper edges sticking out from the laminate cover rustling quietly beneath her fingers. Alright, so, Sinnoh definitely didn’t have as many drinks as she liked - compared to what she commonly found in Hoenn, at least. Hoenn being a more tropical climate than Sinnoh, the drinks found there tended to have either a sweet or fruity twist to them. That or they had a refreshing, wake-me-up flavor to them once you swallowed them. Sinnoh was different though. The white-haired trainers Cerulean eyes scanned the menu while her fingertips ruffled the edges of it. So far there was a plentiful list of stiff drinks that were beyond her preference, but judging by the categories and ingredients as she read on, they were getting better. Hopefully she’d be able to find something with a fruity flavor to it.
Her light concentration on reading was broken when a familiar voice interrupted the silence in which she had been sitting. She looked up quickly, the surprise being well hidden from becoming a part of her expression. If she had less control over her actions, she would have jumped a bit, probably. Her eyes met those of the well-known Dragon Master, Lance. Isn’t this a pleasant surprise… she mused silently, smiling some after a moment of silence following his words. She was half-expecting the Champion, particularly in Nox territory, to be surrounded by a semi-circle of giggling or sighing fangirls that wanted nothing more than to get his autograph, watch a battle, or touch his cape.
Although the Veteran Trainer was a fan of his as well, the same went for any Champion…former or not. Her fandom, though, consisted of the ambitious, insatiable desire to battle (and defeat) them, though, rather than simply admiring a Champion for reasons that were comparatively superficial. Alyssa had taken a two-year break from her momentous string of battling competitively and sweeping the gyms of any region, as well as Hoenn’s Battle Frontier, to train. The training she’d put her pokemon through was harder on them than even the fiercest gym battles they’d faced. Although some trainers would call it cruel, Alyssa found that one of the most effective ways to find the true determination of a pokemon’s spirit was to have it battle another pokemon that clearly had a type-advantage.
That… she thought, …is when you can truly see the power within their hearts.
Moving her hand from the menu, she lifted it to curl just below the side of her jaw. Her fingernails brushed her pale cheek as she rested her chin in the palm of her hand. ”I could repeat that statement back at you, Champion Lance…” she said, a small grin pulling at the corners of her mouth as she used the words he had given her upon their first meeting not too long ago at Dragonspiral Tower in Unova. ”At any rate,” she continued, letting the humor sit in the air as she spoke again, ”It’s nice to see you again.” Although that was generally a phrase used by friends that hadn’t seen each other in a while, it was still something polite to say with someone who was more of an acquaintance.
Pausing for a moment, the white-haired trainer blinked before remembering a portion of her manners that seemed to have slipped from her memory that second. ”Feel free to take a seat…” Alyssa said, the grin falling to more of an inviting smile as she waved her hand leisurely to the side of the booth across from her.
”I don’t bite.”

An amused grin appeared on his face when he heard that statement. It seemed she remembered the exact words he said to her from their earlier meeting at the Dragonspiral. Even though it wasn’t that long ago, for her to remember the exact statement meant he might have left a favourable impression on the elder trainer, a pleasant surprise indeed. ”I’m impressed you remembered that Alyssa. I’m glad I left a favourable impression for you to remember my words exactly.” He said as he gave her a charming smile.
Accepted her invitation to take a seat, he gracefully slid into the booth seat across from her, folding his legs and arms as he did so. ”By the way you don’t have to call me Champion Lance. I’m not a champion anymore, according to Lux, so Lance would be fine. Also you are currently in a position of higher authority than me at the moment so I should be the one calling you by a title…” He paused, leaning forward to rest the table with his elbows, his head resting snugly on the back of his hands that were clasped together. ”…Also I would hope you don’t bite…too roughly, Leader Alyssa ” His continued, giving her a cool smile. His red eyes were observing the female across from him, taking every detail into account. He didn’t get a chance to actually stop and converse with Alyssa properly last time, but she did manage to arouse his curiosity a bit. So much so that he began looking her up, at least her accomplishments as a trainer and in Nox.
The arrival of a female waitress broke his concentration as he she came looking for their orders, but from the way she stared at Lance it felt more like she was asking want he wanted, trying to deny the existence of the other female in the booth. Leaning back to his original seated position Lance picked up the drink menu from the table, and began scanning it. He really wasn’t one for drinks in general so his knowledge about them was very limited. The few occasions he went out with Clair or the other Elite Four members they had always been his source of information regarding the matter. Peeking over the top of the menu at Alyssa, he pondered for a moment, his lips curling into a grin. ”Why don’t you recommend something Alyssa? I would love to taste something that you find enjoyable.” He said, in an almost upbeat tone. He knew if Clair was here she would have stared blades through him now for his behaviour. That woman never really liked his innocent flirtation with other women, especially in her presence.
Still he was going to enjoy himself at this moment, and take his shoes off in a manner of speaking. The tension with the war was beginning to become overwhelming, so a chance to relax like this was like an oasis in a desert, one he was not going to waste. ”I’m impressed you remembered that Alyssa. I’m glad I left a favorable impression for you to remember my words exactly.”
Her smile slipped into a bit of grin again. He had definitely left a favorable impression upon their last meeting. He had shown the traits of a charismatic gentleman – respectful, level-headed, easy to talk with, etc. Although they hadn’t necessarily shared many words at the Dragonspiral Tower, there had been enough to keep the white-haired trainer open to meeting the Champion again. He accepted her invitation and slid easily into the booth, making himself comfortable as he did so. She had looked back at the menu, but raised her eyes again when he spoke. Ah…the debate over the position… she thought, almost a bit sadly. In her mind, the Champions retained their rightfully earned titles, even if Lux and the rest of the Pokemon League had stripped them of such were they daring enough to change sides to Nox.
However…
She was about to open her mouth to speak before he continued, having leaned forward and rested his chin on his hands. ”Also, I would hope you don’t bite…too roughly, Leader Alyssa.” The small grin she had held turned a bit more into a sheepish smirk. Seconds later though, their attentions were diverted with the arrival of a waitress who – rather obviously – appeared to be a fan of Lance’s.
She watched the waitress carefully, her eyes not leaving the younger woman for a moment, making her gaze almost what one would call threatening. Although it wasn’t an intentional habit she had, the Veteran Trainer had been told on many occasions her gaze seemed to ‘stare into a person’s soul’ as Wattson had told her after being defeated, or as Lieutenant Surge had put it, ‘see through a person’. She looked from the waitress to Lance when the man spoke, prompting her to decide for the both of them.
”Hmmm..” she said, glancing at the menu. Either the man across from her was simply being polite in letting her decide what he should have, or he was comparatively unfamiliar in the area of alcoholic beverages. Glancing at the menu, she figured it best to play it safe and go with something that was a bit on the sweeter side of things rather than strong and stiff.
”In that case, I think we’ll each have an Orange Blossom, please..” she told the waitress, who nodded, taking her menu but leaving Lances, in case they wanted to order something more. Alyssa looked back at Lance, leaning forward a bit to cross her left arm – flat against the table - in front of her right, which was still propped, holding her chin in her palm. ”Hope you don’t mind something on the fruit side of things…” she told him, hoping he wouldn’t. Any time she was instructed to make a decision for people, she took her own personal bias into account, even if she didn’t mean to.
”You don’t need to refer to me as ‘Leader’, either, if it’s easier for you.” she told him with a smile before explaining her word choice from earlier, bringing gaze to meet his. ”In my eyes, any Champion that has rightfully deserved the title retains it, no matter what may have happened to the title because of Lux. But,” she paused, nodding slightly. ”…if you prefer Lance, I’ll respect your wishes.”
As she gazed at him, it occurred to her that she didn’t know how much he knew about her (outside of being Hoenn’s Leader, of course). They were from different regions, and until recently Alyssa had only known him as somebody she would one day challenge…and in her goals, defeat. After becoming the Champion, he may have heard of her exploits in Johto and Kanto over the course of four to five years….how long ago was it? Thirteen that she first took on Kanto? Ten for Johto?
Jeez… she thought, preventing the realization from reaching her face. That’s starting to be longer ago than I care to admit…
Their drinks arrived relatively quickly, and the girl couldn’t help but stare at Lance before flushing with a small giggle and turning to attend to her other duties. Alyssa couldn’t help but snerk quietly at that, a smile pulling at her lips. ”She seems to be rather excited about serving you, huh?” the white-haired trainer asked, pulling her red-orange drink to her before picking it up to sip it. It was good, like always.
Then, she spoke again - this time more quietly, her words closer to a murmur as though she were half-speaking to herself. ”Just to confirm it, I won’t bite…until you piss me off or..” she paused, raising her eyebrows slightly before playing along a bit with the casual word-game she appeared to have initiated. ”…unless you want me to.” She gave a small, quiet laugh and allowed her cerulean eyes to make contact with his striking red ones to show the playful humor in her words and expression.

Lance gave a quick shake of his head and reassured smile toward the white-haired damsel. ”I don’t mind at all. I’m not one for the heavy stuff anyway. I don’t like the influence alcohol tends to have people. Besides, I have a liking for the sweeter things in life.” he explained, as he shot a quick grin at her. He really didn’t have a knack for alcohol at all. The one time he did manage to get drunk, he had passed out in the bar and when he had awoken the next day had found out he nearly trashed the bar challenging everyone in it to a pokemon battle. Luckily all of that happened before he became an Elite Four member and was one of the few secrets of his that had never reached the surface.
When she began explaining her reasoning behind her naming him Champion Lance he listened eagerly. Even while listening to her, he couldn’t help but be reminded of Clair. She had also given him a similar speech before when he brought up the topic about him not being the champion anymore. No matter how he argued she remained firm in her beliefs. Something told him Alyssa would have a similar stand point so challenging her viewpoints would be a vain attempt from him. At least she would stop calling him Champion Lance.
”Personally I don’t really worry about championship titles and such. In the first place I was just holding the title for Red. I took up the position because it allowed me an opportunity to battle against powerful trainers and gave me the chance to train how I pleased. But…your point of view is very encouraging for a fallen champion such as myself.” He told her, folding his arms and smiling gratefully at her.
The arrival of the waitress with their drinks caused his red eyes to shift towards her. Lance shot her an innocent smile as she left the table. His attention returned to Alyssa when an interesting statement escaped her. He remained silent and continued his innocent smile as an answer to her question. So she was paying attention to the waitress. He thought to himself amusingly. He picked up his drink and took a quick taste. ”Mmm…it’s pretty good.” He thought out loud, taking another sip before placing the glass gently on the table once again. It was surprisingly good. She really knew her drinks much to his amazement.
”Just to confirm it, I won’t bite…until you piss me off or …unless you want me to.”
For a moment he just gazed into her cerulean eyes, his eyebrows raised slightly in amusement. This woman was definitely not any ordinary women. For her to take part in his own word games and just deliver a retort such as that was uncommon for him, to say the least. Most women would have just been flustered and giggled non-stop after his first sentence but she remained calm. Either he was losing his charm or he had met his match. Leaning forward on his elbows his eyes were still meeting hers. ”I must say you really interest me Alyssa Akiyama. Your reputation as a trainer is legendary and within Nox you are highly praised as well. Personally I find your company enjoyable and I find you curious…” he paused, his lips curled into a grin as he leaned back into his seat, his eyes closing in thought before he continued, ”…It’s such a pity the war took place. I would’ve really enjoyed battling you in the league. It would be exciting that’s for sure.” He eyes opened up with a slight edge in them as he waited for her response. Alyssa felt a bit better almost immediately with his reaction to the drink. It wasn’t often she was asked to select a drink for anybody, but when she was it almost always a mental tug-of-war, trying to decide what sort of drink would be the safest bet. There was no luck trying to correlate someone’s personality with the sort of drink they would like, or the type of person they were with the same thing. Lance’s approval of the drink proved just that. She gave a small smile and nodded. ”I’m glad it suits your taste. A bit relieved actually.”
She respected the fact that he disliked the influence alcohol had on people. She for one found it distasteful as well, and only when ingested in moderation did she relax on that viewpoint. The Veteran Trainer had been careful not to fall to the potentially fatal attraction of the strongest drinks out there and instead found her tastes satisfied with a sweet or fruity drink. It was only once in a blue moon that she would get something heavier. Luckily enough, she had never fallen victim to the power of an alcoholic beverage and had a night that the people surrounding her wouldn’t forget, even if she didn’t remember it. Raising her glass to her lips, Alyssa sipped the drink again as she listened to Lance.
”I must say you really interest me Alyssa Akiyama. Your reputation as a trainer is legendary and within Nox you are highly praised as well. Personally I find your company enjoyable and I find you curious…”
So, she interested him? That was quite something…probably an acknowledgement that many trainers craved. Truthfully, it did stir a feeling within her that she hadn’t known was still around. It was a confident, beaming feeling that some would call an ‘ego boost’. However, it was something she hadn’t exactly been expecting…not from any trainer, truly, especially not on among the ranks of Lance. She maintained her expression though, letting only the blush spurred from her humility aroused by the compliment slip onto her cheeks, the red giving some color to her generally pale skin. She watched his lips curl into a grin and attempted to force back the warm flush that remained staining her cheeks.
”I’m flattered that you find my company enjoyable…” she said with a small smile ”I could say the same for you.” she answered truthfully, nodding slightly along with her words as she spoke. She maintained her calm and more collected demeanor, while in her mind there was a new fire lit that burned from a feeling in her stomach.
Legendary reputation, huh? Though she had strived through the years to attain a title like that, or becoming more well-known than the Champions, she always retained a sense of doubt within her mind. On the outside, she had allowed the goal to come off as unbridled determination, and later confidence in her abilities that had earned her more than one name-calling of being too arrogant. She’d made a point to prove herself through that battle by toppling her opponent. However, on the inside, she remained amazed, for lack of a better word, at her own accomplishments through the years. More than once after a particularly notable battle had she found herself if she would wake up and find that it had all been a dream.
The white-haired trainer sipped her drink again, this time with a small smile. As his lips curled into a grin, she automatically prepared herself to think of a verbal retort to continue the friendly word game they’d been having. She began to lower the glass slightly to rest it back on the table when he spoke again.
”…It’s such a pity the war took place. I would’ve really enjoyed battling you in the league. It would be exciting that’s for sure.”
Those words made her freeze mid-action, her eyes widening in the surprise that stirred within her. She found herself at a loss for words for a few seconds, for whatever reason. Raising her glass to her lips once again she quickly swallowed some of the drink before fully setting it down, giving herself a few seconds to think. Dropping her right arm lightly to cross it over her left atop the table, she leaned forward slightly towards Lance. ”It is indeed a pity.” she agreed, pausing before she continued.
”Four years ago I finished collecting the silver and gold Symbols from Battle Frontier. Afterwards, few people realize I took a bit of a break from competitive battling simply to train my pokemon. I did this for one purpose – so I could take on every Elite Four and Champion in stride. Unfortunately, the war broke out just before I could do so.” She glanced down at her arms. Although now the chances were slim, she held the goal of doing such once the war ended. ”Red and yourself were the first on my list. I had a feeling the battles with you two would prove most exciting and beneficial. However…” she closed her eyes for a moment before opening them again, her blue gaze meeting his with the start of a kindling flame.
”I can’t help but feel there was a challenge hidden in your words, Lance?”
That or I’m simply imagining things… she mused silently.

His hands unconsciously made their way to the coloured drink before bringing it up to his lips and then down his throat. Mmmm…this really is delicious. He thought to himself in the moment of silence. He took another mouthful as he waited for the young trainer. It seemed his last sentence had left her speechless. He couldn’t help but grin. He had a rough idea what was going through her mind at that moment, if she was the trainer he thought she was that is. Any kind of competitive trainer and a good one at that would’ve been able to pick up the hints in his words. He’d figured she would’ve at least. He was fairly confident that she would.
When she began explaining her absence from the pokemon scene four years ago he listened eagerly, placing his drink carefully on the table once again. He was impressed. Not only did she win literally every badge out there, but she wanted to defeat every Elite Four and Champion in a single streak. Some people would call that being overconfident, conceited even, but not Lance. He respected her ambitions and confidence in herself and her pokemon. A League was not so forgiving as to let half-hearted trainers come and claim it. That was the purpose of the Elite Four. They were there to test not only the skill of the trainer, but their determination and heart. They were the filter that weeded out all those who lacked the required desire and the strength of determination to face the champion. He smiled slightly at Alyssa. She had all the makings of a champion. If only this war had never of happened. If only.
When she mentioned that Red and himself were first on her list, a soft laugh escaped him. She really was ambitious, going after the most famous trainer in all the regions and the Dragon Master. He wasn’t usually full of himself (okay that might not be true) but out of all the champions he knew of, he always thought himself superior to them and also the power of his dragons were known to be undefeatable, making him the most challenging champion of all, with one exception of course, Red. Red is the only trainer Lance considered his equal, with Blue as well, and probably the strongest trainer in the world at the moment. He, himself had been training ever since his defeat at Red’s hands to challenge the Champion of Kanto once again. To think she would challenge Red first, a trainer Lance considered a difficult opponent, it was humorous to him. Not in the sense that she was stupid or insane but more along the lines that her ambitions were similar to his with regards to Red.
”I can’t help but feel there was a challenge hidden in your words, Lance? .Or, am I simply imagining things…”
He smiled at her, his eyes meeting hers. There was definitely a flicker there; one he had hoped would appear when he said those words to her. She had desire alright, a burning desire that blood of war failed to wash out. ”You should already know the meaning of my words, Alyssa. What do your instincts as a trainer tell you?” He asked her. He folded his arms and tilted his head slightly as his reds eyes pierced through her, smile fading to a smug grin. ”Even now I can see it…I can feel it radiating against my skin. Your desire to battle me has been present since the moment you met me. You ask if there is a challenge hidden in my words, but the real question is…do you want to challenge me, the Dragon Master, Lance Draken? Do you want to challenge the Indigo Champion?”

”You should already know the meaning of my words, Alyssa. What do your instincts as a trainer tell you?” she narrowed her eyes challengingly, sipping down the last of her drink – which had vanished surprisingly fast. She must have been thirstier than she was first aware. She felt the burning desire to battle the Champion before her boiling her blood as their conversation escalated. It send a thrill of adrenaline through her body, dusting off the old gears in her mind that had been relatively unused for a while. In the past years with her ‘break’ from competitive battling along the lines of challenging gyms, she had been battling other trainers with simply straightforward power - effectively overwhelming them and their pokémon.
Now, though, the gears in her brain for a more tactical battle were churning, making her actually think about a battle for the first time. It was times like these when her attitude began its turn-about, practically making her a different person for the time in which she battled. She’d been told before that it was scary, almost, how the seriousness of a battle and her determination to win temporarily altered her personality.
”Even now I can see it..I can feel it radiating against my skin. Your desire to battle me has been present since the moment you met me.” A smirk twitched at the corners of her mouth. Got that right… she thought, adding her own silent monologue to accent what she heard. ”You ask if there is a challenge hidden in my words, but the real question is…do you want to challenge me, the Dragon Master, Lance Draken?” She felt herself sub-consciously nod, keeping her eyes narrowed with determination.
”Do you want to challenge the Indigo Champion?”
The smirk on her face split into a full, crooked grin. The fire of determination that had been absent from her eyes for too long returned again, and she met his striking red eyes, unflinching under his gaze. She locked eyes with the man she now saw as her opponent, their gazes competing like fire and ice. She sat straighter against the booth, cracking her neck slightly as she adjusted her gaze to accommodate for the change in her sitting position. She barely even paid mind when the young waitress of Lance’s came over. Alyssa spared the girl only a few seconds of a glance and a short request for the tab. She would pick it up easily. After all, she had invited Lance to join her.
Having already calculated the dues, Alyssa pulled the small sum of money for her pocket and left it on the corner of the table for the waitress to pick up without disturbing the two powerful trainers now keeping their gazes locked across a table, like any pair of trainers about to engage in a friendly battle.
Just like the old days… Alyssa thought, not letting the sadness at the lost ‘age’ of friendly battling enter her gaze. The mood did not dampen her enthusiastic determination this time.
Before she answered, she made a mild suggestion, without intentions of throwing the mood off. Even if it was, though, she felt sure that with an opponent like Lance meeting her gaze now, there was no way the mood would vanish. ”First, though, might I suggest the battle take place on Route 214, just south of here? I wouldn’t want us to…ah…accidentally destroy Veilstone. Needless to say I don’t think people would be all too pleased if that happen, and if we stay here it’s likely to do so. Not to mention, I think members of an audience could get a bit annoying.” It wasn’t as though she disliked having people watch battles she partook in, it was that when battling someone like Lance, there would most likely be people screaming, yelling, and in general making fools of themselves, risking a distraction to both trainers and their pokémon. That was the last thing Alyssa wanted for a battle like this…something she’d been wanting for seven long years.
She paused, for almost an agonizingly long time for even herself.
”Yes…” she said simply, keeping her voice level. The change in her attitude was obvious in her voice already. It was stronger, unwavering, and less playful than it had been earlier with the exchange of their word game.
”I, Alyssa Akiyama…” she began, keeping her voice relatively quiet, though steady. ”…challenge you, Lance Draken, to a pokémon battle.” Her grin subsided into a smirk as her mouth closed and lips curled to show the expression. She prepared to move when he showed that he was ready to go, unsure if he was at this instant. Either way, she was ready for whatever he threw at her in their battle...and she could only hope for the same on his end.

Excitement. It had been ages since Lance’s blood boiled in anticipation of a battle. The nostalgia of it all was almost overwhelming. His smug grin shifted to a confident smile, his face in pure serenity despite the electricity and tension in the air around him. The world around seemed so distant, a blank monotone in comparison to the opponent before him, whose fiery passion and determination blazed like the sun.
As Alyssa explained the location of the battle Lance finished his flavoured drink and rather quickly at that, the build-up of excitement causing his body to move into another gear. He was focused now, entering a more serious state of mind. It was in this heightened state of his that many a challenger found themselves completely overwhelmed by the sheer power he wielded and the unrelenting ruthlessness that he displayed when he battled against them. Placing the empty glass on the table he listened, waiting for the specific words he wanted to hear.
”I, Alyssa Akiyama… …challenge you, Lance Draken, to a pokémon battle.”
”Accepted.” It was done. With those words Alyssa had just awoken a dragon that had been in long slumber since the war began. Lance stood up slowly from his seat and began walking towards the exit. He knew she would follow, so he didn’t have to look behind to confirm her presence and he continued on, exiting the building in silence.
The sudden chill of the air outside was biting on the skin but Lance simply ignored the discomfort. It was but a distraction from the task at hand. The city was still as lively as before he went into the bar, with more than a few people bustling in the street outside the bar. Some of the people around him stood still and gazed at him when they recognized who it was that was in their presence. The whispers and hums buzzed around him as a crowd began to form around the champion, all those who were eager to witness or meet the champ clustering together. Lance remained unfazed and even apparently unaware of those around him. They were all registered as background noise to him now, something of little consequence that he filtered out of his attention. He removed a pokeball from his belt and a moment later a red flashed signalled the arrival of a dragon.
Blaze’s powerful form now stood in front of Lance, his wings stretched out to their maximum capacity and his mighty form towering over Lance as he let out a ferocious roar into the night sky, silencing the crowds instantly. The circle of people that formed around Lance and Blaze now began to back away from the intimidating presence of the charizard, obviously the primal human response of fear amongst the crowd being invoked by it. ”Shall we depart?” He gracefully leaped onto Blaze’s back with relatively ease, the result of having done so numerous times before. Blaze looked back at his trainer, being met with an approving nod by Lance, signalling the dragon to get ready to lift off. ”Oh, try to keep up.” He announced to her, giving her a challenging grin in the process.
With a pat from his trainer, Blaze’s wings gave a single, powerful push off. The backlash of the air being pushed, being so powerful that dirt, clothing and people alike got pushed away by it as the red dragon shot off into the air with accelerating speed. Lance held on tight to Blaze’s neck, the rush of air caused by the sudden thrust upwards trying to rip him off his charizard’s back, still he remained perfectly poised on Blaze’s back, his cape flowing violently behind him contrasting greatly with the calmness and ease at which Lance held on to Blaze. He looked back at the city, specifically towards the bar that rapidly decreased in size as they soared through the night sky.

”Accepted.”
Alyssa’s smirk curled to one of more confidence and determination when she accepted heard those eagerly-anticipated words. I would expect no less she thought silently, feeling the adrenaline within her veins beginning to course through her more powerfully than before, as though the floodgates had opened rather than the simple trickling as it had been. The newfound energy within the white-haired trainer had her tapping her heels restlessly – though quietly – against the dark-tiled floor in the bar. The only thing she waited for now was for the former Champion before her to move. Only then would she head out.
Although his movements were slow and deliberate, Alyssa could sense the anticipation wiring his body, and the apparent tension it was creating. Tension from determination and the thrill of a pokemon battle, undoubtedly, to combat the incredible passion heating the air around them. The white-haired trainer followed the caped Dragon Master out the doors of the bar and very soon found herself in a small sea of fans that had quickly accumulated around Lance. She smiled slightly, pulling her red beanie-cap out of her pocket and placing it on her head just so as a drawn pokeball revealed his Charizard.
Compared to the stunned, almost nervous reaction of the crowd around them, Alyssa remained calm and collected, her eyes sweeping over the Charizard in admiration. It was brimming with power and health. She clicked a Timer Ball off of her belt and held it in her palm, not revealing her pokemon yet lest she hit somebody in the crowd on accident. In their swarm, they had left the two trainers little room to maneuver. More than one pokemon would be too much. Looking up at Lance as he leapt upon Charizards back, she nodded, a grin pulling at her lips.
”Oh, try to keep up.”
With that, the Charizard gave a powerful downward thrust, buffeting all surrounding it with the strong gust of wind from the draft of wind resulting. Alyssa, however, remained standing for a moment to watch Lance fly off on his pokemon, surprise dancing in her eyes. ”Well...I certaintly applaud his spunk for that comment.” she told herself, chuckling some as she tossed her pokeball idly into the air and catching it when it fell back to her, Flygon taking shape next to her. The muted whispers that had arisen from Lance’s departure changed to glances in her direction, with some quiet murmurings, questioning if they were seeing right. First Indigo’s Champion – former or not was the debate – now one of Nox’s five leaders? In one place?
Well that will stir some gossip...
Alyssa quickly mounted Flygon, the Dragon-type pokemon having laid his neck flat on the ground to allow his trainer to step over. He rose quickly, clasping his clawed hands on her legs to keep her seated on his shoulders between his wings. ”Let’s fly!” she commanded, wrapping one arm around the Mystic pokemon’s neck. Not seconds later, they were off like a rocket, the speed even surprising Alyssa as they raced through the sky towards Lance and his Charizard.
She couldn’t help but grin. What Flygon had seen of the Charizard had ignited a burn of rivalry. Less than a minute later, Alyssa was by Lance’s side, about six feet between the wingtips of their pokemon. A light, sing-song hum coming from the rapid vibrations of Flygon’s wings, chorused by the gust heard from each downstroke from the Charizard. The spirit of the desert was known for its ‘song’ caused by its vibrating wings in flight and stirred sandstorms, as well as the speed at which it raced through the sands.
Alyssa stayed looking forward, bent low over the dragon’s neck. Her bangs were clumped between her eyes, and the rest of her hair was pulled into two low ponytails at the base of her skull that billowed behind her in a similar fashion to Lance’s cape. She looked like she did when she was a teenager flying through the sky, come to think of it. Though the Veteran Trainer stayed facing straight ahead, towards the rising moon, Alyssa spared a glance in Lance’s direction, raising her voice slightly to be heard over the wind racing past their ears. ”Been a while since I’ve had a nighttime battle.” she told him, as though flying high above the outskirts of Veilstone City was the perfect place to have small talk.
”However...I could have sworn back there you thought you’d be faster than me in the sky?” she turned her face more towards him so he could see her playful grin. ”To be honest I think Flygon’s asleep right now.” She felt the pokemon tense beneath her at the joke. Although he understood her humor, when he felt competitive he didn’t have much of a mood for it. The green dragon let out what Alyssa had to consider a roar. Flygons werent necessarily known for their dragon-like sounds, but if one was to come close to it, the sound made just now would probably fit the description. His head facing downwards, Flygon let out an annoyed puff of fire, causing his trainer to snerk a bit before looking around before she spotted the location she had in mind for their battle.
”See that body of water?” it wasn’t large enough to be called a lake, in her opinion, but not small enough to be a pond either. ”We can stage our battle next to that. Nice and open. I’ll see you there!” Leaning forward, she held her left arm diagonally-back behind her carefully to keep her balance with her right arm curled around Flygons neck. Tapping her fingers against his skin, he nodded and picked up the pace. The humming of his wings grew louder as he accelerated to a greater speed, pulling ahead before nose-diving, almost vertically, to the ground.
A stunt like that in the air would give more than one person a heart attack, but to Alyssa it was incredibly fun. A perfect wake-me-up. Slowing to a rapid halt after levelling out, Flygon hovered above the ground to allow his trainer to hop off. She did so, adjusting her hat once she had her feet flat on the ground. The dragon nosed its trainer, nudging the side of her head and almost making her stumble to the side. She laughed lightly, closing her eyes and placing her hands beneath his jaw to stroke beneath his chin as he nuzzled her.

It was refreshing, for the single moment that he was alone in the sky with Blaze it was like serenity. The wind touched his skin like cool water, caressing and enveloping him in its embrace. The full moon shone brilliantly in the night sky, its illuminating light only complementing the millions of stars that shone like fireflies beside it.
The humming ‘song’ of the spirit of the desert managed to pierce the howl of the wind and reach Lance’s ears, causing the champion to turn to its source. To his pleasant surprise he witnessed Alyssa’s high speed approach on a Flygon. If he recalled correctly Flygon was one of the dragon-type pokemon from Alyssa’s native region of Heonn, a ground and dragon type. He wasn’t all too familiar with the dragons of Heonn and this was his first time seeing a Flygon in person but it was magnificent, truly a beautiful creature indeed, and more importantly, brimming with the ancient power of dragons. You keep surprising me, Alyssa. Lance mused to himself.
He smiled at her when she questioned his earlier challenge in speed. She was amusing, no doubt about that and in a grand display as only a trainer of her calibre could, dove towards a body of water that would serve as their battle ground. ”I think I like this women Blaze…” He muttered out loud. Blaze simply looked at his trainer, his narrowed eyes suggesting he was not amused. The women and her pokemon were opponents. For Lance to be thinking of things irrelevant to battle was absurd and only caused one to lose concentration. Nope Blaze was not amused at all, but he held faith that his trainer would assume his usual focus and concentration once the battle commenced, he always did without fail. Nothing could interfere with Lance’s one true love, pokemon battling.
”…Let’s follow them Blaze.” He commanded, his voice carrying over the roar of the wind. Without hesitation Blaze emulated the Flygon’s earlier pre-dive maneuverer; however he tilted his body upwards stretching his wings out to their full wingspan for a moment, the radiance of the full moon casting a backdrop behind the charizard, before tucking his wings in and beginning his descent. His dive was not as vertical as the Flygon’s but the speed at which he descended towards the earth was greater, the power of gravity taking full grasp of the falling pokemon. Lance, crouched low on Blaze’s back, was grinning excitedly. This adrenaline rush was nothing new to him, but it was an enjoyable experience every time he did it, not to mention he was always a bit of a show off anyway, so a stunt like this was something he pulled every now and then.
Coming up upon the ‘lake’, Blaze’s wings opened up to the fullest once again catching the various wind currents in the atmosphere and slowly their descent abruptly. Using the wind currents and the momentum from the dive, Blaze swiftly glided over the lake’s surface with some speed, approaching the shore where Alyssa landed. As the charizard flew over the bank of the lake, Lance released his grip from Blaze’s neck and jumped off the dragon’s back, landing gracefully after a mid-air back somersault (he really was a show off). Blaze circled around the ‘battlefield’ once before landing beside his trainer.
An eerie silence swept over the lake and shore, like the calm before the storm. Lance, now standing about 30 feet from Alyssa near the water, watched the female trainer before him, his arms folded confidently yet his facial features sharpening as a result of his incredible focus setting in. The light from the moon fell down upon Lance, illuminating his figure and exaggerating his features even more, especially his eyes, causing his crimsons eyes to resemble those of a dragon for the moment.
”I hope you’re ready for this Alyssa. I never hold back, just so you know and Blaze doesn’t either.” The charizard let out a spine chilling roar, almost in response to his trainer’s words. The Flame pokemon walked a few paces in front of Lance and stood boldly, the flame on his tail burning wickedly in anticipation for his opponent. Blaze was ready, but the question is…was Alyssa?

Alyssa kept her eyes closed with a smile on her face as Flygon nuzzled her. ”You’re a sweetheart inside, aren’t you?” she asked the Mystic pokemon lovingly, laughing a bit as he snorted in disproval, as though it were an insult to his skill, probably the same way a male human would react to having his masculinity insulted. ”Yeah, yeah...” she said as he gave her a bit of a shove with his nose. She scratched beneath his chin gently to comfort him. ”I wouldn’t underestimate you, I promise...” she told him, going along with the joking motion he seemed to be putting through like she had actually injured his pride. ”It would probably be the last thing I would do.” The humming of Flygon’s wings altered slightly as he changed his position hovering in the air. When she’d first caught him as a Trapinch in the scorching sands and a blinding sandstorm, he was mistrustful of her...probably for good reason. Any trainer crazy (or as she preferred to think of it, determined) enough to endure blistering conditions of the desert for a pokemon had reason to be questioned. However, once he had grown used to the person that had captured him, he proved to be a bit of a devilish trickster, trying to prank other pokemon. He even continued after he got in trouble more than once for a trick gone awry.
Now, though, he was an asset to her team given the conditions, and above all a companion and friend.
A sound made her open her eyes and look up, pulling slightly away from Flygon as she looked into the air. The sound she had heard was familiar from having stoped a gravity-led descent abruptly by catching wind on the wings, and that familiarity proved to be correct in this case. She watched the Charizard glide over the surface of the lake as he stabilized his flight from the rapid descent, letting its weight be used in descent thanks to gravity. She didn’t let her eyes leave the flame-tailed pokemon until his trainer leapt off, landing gracefully from a mid-air backflip.
Show off...
A smirk crawled across her face with that thought, though. It was light-hearted and joking as her voice would have been if she said it. The man before her showed skill from years of practice in his actions, and she knew the battle that was about to erupt between them would be one of the best she’d seen, and definitely the one most worth her time since the Battle Frontier. This was something she’d been waiting for patiently...something she’d wanted. Something she was determined to find triumph in.
Though she showed none of her determination and focus yet, her mind was working, thinking tactically. Her blue eyes met Lance’s, and she could tell from simply looking at him that she had awoken the dragon rumored to be slumbering in his heart. Good... she thought. I like you, Lance... she said silently, not letting her blue gaze leave his startling red one. ...I like you a lot. You are a worthy opponent. Letting her hands drop to her side as she watched him. He didn’t move, only spoke.
”I hope you’re ready for this Alyssa. I never hold back, just so you know, and Blaze doesn’t either.”
A grin cracked from her smirk and she allowed herself to get the last bits of any sort of light-hearted playfulness from before leave her body in an easy laugh. ”Well...” she said, shaking her head some and looking at him with the last smile he’d see until after their battle. ”What do you say we make this a bit fun? Loser buys dinner?” she grinned some a bit at him. It wasn’t as though she was asking him to anything like a date, simply dinner between someone she felt she would soon be able to consider a friend. She saw a possible dinner as a potential opportunity to discuss their battle. She didn’t know about Lance, but that was something she would most definitely appreciate.
Focus, Alyssa!
”But..!” she said, getting back on topic, ” I would expect no less from you. I would feel beyond insulted if you didn’t...particularly when facing me. Standard League rules...” she informed him, simply out of habit though she was certain he knew already. ”...six pokemon each, unless one of us gives up, which I sure as hell don’t plan on doing, I don’t know about you.”
She closed her eyes and sighed. Silence set between them after the hair-raising roar and footsteps from his Charizard. She concentrated now, letting all signs of humor, childishness, and even close to kindness leave her body. She was focused...for the first time in years. This was something that she would always remember. It occurred to her now that even if she wound up losing this battle – Arceus forbid – she would be happy with the outcome, having gained the unquestionable experience from battling a Champion like Lance...and that would give her all the more reason to train harder and re-battle him.
A light breeze carried through the area, whistling eerily through the trees as the two powerful trainers prepared themselves for a battle that would most likely never be forgotten. She heard the wingbeats of Flygon grow fainter, signaling that her pokemon was already on the field, ready to battle. She could sense the rivalry and determination coming off of Flygon, and she knew her pokemon was locking eyes with the orange Charizard, sizing it up for the challenge. Although the Charizard had a leg-up as far as muscular build and general bulk went, Flygon was a natural acrobat, with a slight edge to his speed, though the Charizard was a closer match than he’d met in battle ever before.
He knows this...I can feel it.. Alyssa thought, finally snapping her eyes open to meet his.
Any child-like feature that may have been present in her both physically and attitude-wise was gone, and her blue eyes blazed like a cold fire to douse the power radiating from his. Her face was practically expressionless, save for her eyes being slightly narrowed in concentration. Lance was lucky...he would be the first in years to see why she was called Hoenn’s Abyss. Any trainers challenging her randomly had been child’s play.
”Let’s go, Flygon!” she said, her voice hard, stronger, and unwavering as she started their battle. ”Focus on your speed and agility in the air to start with a Crunch!”
Flygon gave a small roar in obediance and lashed his tail against the ground, the sound echoing through the moonlit evening like a bullwhip. Damn winter nights.. she thought. Getting dark around seven o’clock... Flygon’s teeth – much smaller than his pre-evolution, Trapinch’s – glowed white within his mouth as he soared for the Charizard, aiming a blow to its long neck. Just for a taster, Flygon...see what that Charizard is made of...
It had begun...the battle between two of the most powerful trainers in Nox.

He was in the zone now, so to speak. The rest of the world around him was irrelevant at that precise moment, only the opponent before him, only the battle to come mattered. His calm, serene face belied the storm of thought within in his mind, already he was conceptualising multiple attack strategies and counters for the first match-up. Blaze didn’t share his trainer’s subtle approach at sizing up the competition. Flapping his wings a few times, the Flame pokemon stared holes through both Alyssa and her Flygon, though he seemed to intensify when he glared at the Flygon. Blaze’s competiveness was as always…prominent. Of course that applied to his trainer as well, as Lance quietly observed Alyssa across from him.
”What do you say we make this a bit fun? Loser buys dinner?”
Despite himself a smirk made its way across his face. Even in this intense moment Alyssa still managed to surprise and amuse him. ”Sure…I’ll take that bet up.” He replied, confidence flooding every word that left his lips. He didn’t mind buying dinner, it was just that he never, ever back down from a challenge and he would not now, no matter how insignificant the challenge.
Lance simply nodded as a response when Alyssa explained the rules of the battle. They were simple enough; after all he had abided by them countless times as a member of the Elite Four and the Indigo Champion. So she wants this to simulate a Championship match. Should have expected that much from her. He mused to himself.
Alyssa’s Flygon eventually made its way into the battlefield, not showing any signs of intimidation or hesitance. He should’ve expected that from one of her pokemon. Blaze didn’t show any signs of backing down either, instead the flame on his tail seemed to burn more intensely at the prospect of battling against the dragon pokemon opposite it. Lance’s eyes seemed to mirror his pokemon’s as he met Alyssa’s cerulean cold steel gaze. It was starting now, the clash between the two behemoths of Nox.
A high pitched roar signalled the start of both the battle and Flygon’s attack. The Flygon charged towards Blaze with impressive speed, the white glow in its mouth betraying its intentions as it planned to use Crunch on Blaze. It was obvious Flygon bested Blaze in terms of pure agility and against any other charizard this straight forward attack would’ve been effective against them. Unfortunately for both Alyssa and her Flygon, Blaze has battled against opponents whose speed outclassed the Flygon’s. His sparing matches against D, a pokemon who is easily ranked as one of the fastest in existence, would prove extremely beneficially in this battle. Compared to D’s attacks, the Flygon’s was easily predictable and reversible.
Lance of course knew this and he had already formulated a simple but effective counter attack. Remaining stationary with his arms still folded, the dragon master issued his commands swiftly and assuredly, ”Blaze, wait for the right moment and intercept the attack with a Dragon Claw!” Blaze responded to his trainer’s commands with another bone-shrieking roar. The red dragon held its ground, his wings opening behind him as he steadied himself for the incoming attack. Just as the Flygon’s teeth glowed from its Crunch attack, so too would Blaze’s own claws as it readied its own attack.
As the Flygon descended down upon Blaze’s slender neck, jaws open for kill, a voice pierced through the air. Now! Lance howled. Even as Lance’s voice echoed off in the distance, Blaze’s power-charged claw was already sweeping across its form for an overhead strike. Its target being the side of Flygon’s charging face, hoping to crush the dragon pokemon with a combination of its own power and the Flygon’s own momentum. Hope you don’t underestimate me Alyssa.
This was Lance’s reply to Alyssa declaration and a demonstration of his power and what was to come.

Alyssa watched the battle closely, her gaze not moving from the pokémon before her. The Crunch was only a testing measure to see how Lance and his Charizard would react – be it through evasion, taking a hit and returning a blow, or simply lashing out. She expected a Champion like Lance, who had undoubtedly fought enough battles to practically memorize more than a handful of strategies, to have a plan. The close-range attack was her way of seeing just that. She had found through the years that by judging a first-move reaction from an opponent could key one in to their fighting style and therein help the observer determined the outcome of the match. That technique, however, was most useful on a trainer who battled day-to-day to survive the numerous trainers in the pokémon world, not somebody who battled to protect their title. I wonder what I’ll be able to see from Lance in this… Alyssa asked herself silently.
She expected the Dragon Master before her to have trained his Charizard rigorously through the price paid for strength and useful bulk to overwhelm an opponent, as well as types it was weakened against. A common training method among more experienced trainers was no longer limited to random passersby, but to the other pokémon of their team. A Dragonite, undoubtedly… she thought. One of Lance’s signature pokémon to use was Dragonite. I bet he hasn’t trained against a Salamence, though… she grinned with the thought. Although she herself did not have a Salamence to garnish her party, she had met a few in battle with more experienced trainers that proved to be an exciting battle…not quite on the scale she was expecting from this one, but still close. Salamence were incredible creatures, and stated in pokedex entries as being some of the fastest Dragons out there.
I’d like to see how his Dragonite compare to a Salamence… she mused, narrowing her eyes as Lance gave an order to his pokémon. Dragon Claw, huh? Cutting right to the chase with a technique strongest against Dragon-type pokémon aside from Ice-type moves, I see. No matter… Flygon were normally judged in terms of speed and agility in battle, with many trainers using that to gain an upper hand with opponents. However, Alyssa had begun intensive training after becoming familiar with her Pokémon’s personality. She had believed that would benefit them the most. Instead of focusing on the traits that were already known to be marked as ‘good’ in a pokémon, she delved into their different aspects. Something she’d discovered was that Flygon were particularly sturdy pokémon, capable of taking hits strong against them and enduring long battles. The Veteran Trainer had decided it came from their nearly impossible desert climate.
Flygon can handle this.. she thought, smiling a bit.
Her pokémon had neared the Charizard and judging by Lance’s command it would strike at an opportune moment.
Right about…
”Now!”
”Roll with it, Flygon!” she commanded, moving a hand to her hip as the Charizard’s glowing claws raised to slash downward at her Mystic Pokémon. A quick last-second burst of speed shot Flygon forward as he halted his attack process and turned on his side, exposing his green flank to the brunt of the claw’s hit. She heard Flygon’s roar as he barrel-rolled away, his tail lashing against the ground as he shook his leg out. The claws had hit in practically full brunt, that was for sure, and his roar was not of pain, but of a challenge, she supposed, to the Charizard. Coming out of the barrel roll – hit askew by the power-packed claws, though quickly righted - Flygon zoomed behind Lance, turning practically on a dime to whip by the Dragon Master again and re-enter the fray, his vibrating wings no more than a foot away from the red-haired man, Alyssa had to guess judging from her distance.
”You know what to do!” she told him, noticing the look he gave her as he came forward, up by Charizard again before soaring into the air, about twenty feet above the ground, his two antennae glowing red as he moved. Upon halting and looking down at the opponent directly beneath him, multiple white rings of energy appeared around the Dragon pokemon’s body. Large boulders appeared from the ripples of energy, practically out of nowhere.
”Rock Slide!”
With those words, Flygon let out another small roar (not comparable to the Charizard’s, but still a roar in its own right) and let the massive boulders drop down towards the Flame Pokémon, gravity accelerating their descent. Flygon, however, stayed in the air, either to taunt or summon their battle to the skies where they could maneuver more freely and test their skills.
You know Dragon pokémon, Lance, very well… she acknowledged, looking at the Champion before her before glancing between her pokemon in the sky and his on the ground, smiling a bit. But how much do you know of unlocking a pokemon’s true power?
