[cs=2] FULL NAME Her birth name is KIRSIKKA IZANAMI, though she goes by KIRSI to most. She has been called THE PIANO GIRL as well in her younger years when she actively played piano in public rather than in more private venues as she does nowadays. BACKGROUND Kirsi was born TWENTY-SIX YEARS ago in PALLET TOWN, KANTO on JULY 9TH as the second of two children to her parents. The family was an ancient one, having existed for more than ten generations in the world as a line of Psychics, Mediums, and Hex Maniacs. The family has remained relatively closed, generally only marrying to those of a similar status in the world. However, it was not unheard of for them to marry outside the professions mentioned. Kirsi was raised in the Pallet Town household, while the Izanami's manor is in Celestic Town, Sinnoh. It is a gothic-victorian style building which has been standing since the second generation. The wealth and legacy of her family was not earned in any way other than simply a fortune growing evermore through generations. She lived an average childhood, but as a girl she was always far more reserved than most children her age, preferring to play piano or quietly watch others play until she was pulled along to talk or play as well. In spite of her quiet personality she still managed to make friends easily. For the most part she got along with her older brother, save for occasional instances when he teased her or roughed her up a bit too much. Her fear of fire was sparked by her brother's careless actions when they were in the woods - he aggravated a wild pokemon and the dry grass surrounding her caught very quickly. Aside from burning her legs, she was unharmed. The scars stay to this day, but don't bother her. Kirsi has been playing the piano since she was five years old, and began losing her sight around the age of nine. Being such an old family, they did not believe in the "traditional" means of medical treatment and therefore did not permit Kirsi to undergo the surgery that would have saved her sight from the fast-developing cataracts in her eyes. In spite of failing eyesight she continued to play the piano more than ever. She was entirely blind by the age of thirteen. At this point in her life her true potential as a Medium began to show, as Kirsi soon started "seeing" wisps that others couldn't, and hearing things that her parents or brother never seemed to notice. Upon revealing this to her parents, they carted her to Sinnoh to live in the Izanami Manor with her Great-Grandfather, who formally trained her to hone her unnatural gifts that had appeared. After her Great-Grandfather, Kirsi was blessed with the most powerful abilities in the currently-living members of her family. Her Great-Grandfather lived to be over one century old, and passed away when Kirsi was eighteen. Being the true "head of the family" when he was still living, her Great-Grandfather named her to be the single heir of the Izanami's estate and wealth. Not rendered helpless by her failed vision, Kirsi traveled to the Lost Tower of Sinnoh to put her honed abilities to practice, where she did so for two years until the war began. After it started, she kept her head low and moved from region to region in search of both work and exploration (yes, she enjoys exploring even though she cannot see what she is exploring), and has continued with this life for five years - having kept no contact with her family in Pallet...if they're still alive. OCCUPATION For the sake of not falling under the list of potentially 'suspicious' characters in Lux's civilian roster, Kirsi holds a public job as a PROFESSIONAL PIANIST - often playing for officials, parties, weddings, or even over-the-top-events such as galas hosted by Lux and the President himself. It pays her hotel bills (seeing as she no longer has what she considers to be a home) and for her food. However, she has not abandoned her upbringing in the enigmatic Izanami family. Kirsi is a fully-developed MEDIUM, serving as an intermediary between the physical world and the spiritual. Although she has lost her physical sight entirely, she slowly gained a new sight afterward - able to "see" and hear the spirits of departed humans, and "see" the spirits of departed pokemon. In her childhood she developed minor psychic abilities, limited to allowing a connection between her mind and that of her pokemon to be formed so that she may speak to them without others hearing her quiet mumbling. Tying into the above, Kirsi is also a variant of an empath. She is incredibly sensitive to the emotions and feelings of those around her - human and pokemon alike, living and deceased. If she passes by, or is near a gravesite, she will likely grow unnerved by the sorrow coming from it until she comes to terms with it. However, if she is near a place where, for example, mass genocide took place during the war, she will have a much more powerful reaction. ALLEGIANCE Being little more than a mere civilian in this war, and having very few feelings one way or another to the battle as a whole, by default she falls under the umbrella of a LUX in this time. Even if it would be safe for her to battle without almost promising a death warrant, she would elect not to. TRAITS [/style]
