You have no idea how much he hates his real name. Because he hates it so much, he never lets it leave his lips and he only ever introduces himself as STORM...a suiting name for many-a-reason. In the competitive circuit, he is known as THE YELLOW FLASH for a more obvious reason. His blindingly yellow hair and speed in competition has earned him that name. BACKGROUND Born TWENTY-NINE years ago in MAUVILLE CITY, HOENN to Wattson, it's easy to see why Storm's turned out the way he has. He's the oldest of three children and has always tried to be the best "big brother" sort of role model he can be for his younger siblings. All in all, he had a good childhood. Being the son of a Gym Leader, he naturally had high expectations to climb to both in his personal and school life, and he always tried his best. Though he was no intellectual prodigy, getting anywhere from As to Cs on his reports from school, he learned well. He also got into the habit of having people call him Storm because he thought the name was cool ad he didn't like the name Sherlock. Despite what he may say or do (including hating his name), he loves his family dearly and would die protecting them. When he was eight years old his ADHD became painfully apparent in his inability to sit still for more than ten minutes at a time unless he was asleep. Medicines definitely helped, but they couldn't do anything to help his seemingly insaitable desire to run circles around everyone. His parents let him take up martial arts in exchange for becoming a pokemon trainer under Wattson's wing. Though this helped until he was thirteen, he became unsatisfied once again. He took up sports, cycling and swimming specifically, and was allowed to compete so long as he helped his father build New Mauville. This routine kept up for years, and once Storm took up running, he earned himself the nickname 'The Yellow Flash' because of how fast his martial arts - which he still trained rigorously in - had made him on foot. Alongside lightly training pokemon, he took part in Pokeathlon competitions until the age of eighteen when he moved to HEARTHOME CITY, SINNOH where he currently lives. One night, he got a bit too carried away with celebrating being on his own and wound up having a fling with a girl for one night. Six months later guess who called. Whoops. Things didn't spiral downhill as he expected, though. She told him she would only make him be as involved as wanted to be. She didn't want money from him - she'd been the daughter of a famous coordinator, who knew? She just wanted to know how involved he'd be in the baby's life. He told her the truth - that he can't stand little kids. However, he also told her he would remain in touch for years to come and meet the child when he was a bit more grown up. The least he could do was make an exception for his child. He made frequent visits to her after that, and stayed with her (though it wasn't anything serious, she allowed him to keep up his own life) until she was due. He wasn't present during the birth and has only stayed in phone or letter contact with the mother since. Out of fear of not wanting to disappoint his family, he kept the entire affair a secret and continued on with his life as he had. At the age of twenty-two he stopped progressively training in martial arts, though he still kept it up on the side in order to keep in shape beyond cycling, swimming, and running. Those three events, however, became a cornerstone of his life and he moved on to become a competitive Tri-Athlete where he stayed for five years until the war started. Though he still considers himself a professional athlete, the war has made it hard for any sort of competition to take place. One race in particular impacted him. The person he was gunning for first against turned out to be a dirty cheater and used a pokemon on the biking portion of a Triathalon to gain an edge. The idea was to hide in the grass where Storm couldn't see, around a corner and melt the tires of his bike with a simple ember. Nothing too bad, right? Wrong. A special gel in Storm's tires which made his bike suited to on- and off-road race riding was highly flamable and ignited. The fire exploded upward, scorching Storm's entire torso. This put him out of competition for months while he healed. A good portion of it healed, but he still has a large scar that stretches from the top of his sternum to an inch above his navel, and is about as wide as two of his hands placed side-by-side. This developed a deep-set fear of all fire-type pokemon in him, and he has yet to do anything close to moving on the rode to conquer it. He kept in touch with his family and made frequent visits whenever he could. His mother died one year ago and he returned to Hoenn for a few months to help his father sort things out. SEXUALITY Though he prefers competition and pokemon to any human, Storm is and always will be HETEROSEXUAL. OCCUPATION Before the war, Storm was a TRI-ATHLETE. He competed at the professional level of sports and the sponsorships he got through his victory, as well as paid ads in magazines and on television made his constant income. However, he has also competed in the Pokeathlon, and trains pokemon to be battle-ready for war. However, alongside training his body, he has made sure to train his mind as a MARTIAL ARTIST. Now that the war has broken out, though, he is a SPY-COLLECTOR for Sinnoh Nox. ALLEGIANCE Storm sides strongly with NOX in Sinnoh, the region he calls his home second to Hoenn. He is partially on Nox because his father is, but also because he believes they're the lesser of two evils. TRAITS [/style]
