Taryn stared down at the paper that she had been given shortly after her arrival at Xavier’s School. She remained standing in the hallway outside of her room, practically pressed against the wooden wall. She was trying to stay out of the way of the students that actually had a clue as to what they were supposed to be doing. She, on the other hand, didn’t. She had a feeling she should be working on unpacking her belongings, but something had driven her to simply stand in the hallway. She was still adjusting to being somewhere new compared to being somewhere where she knew everybody. She had grown up in a rather rural area of the state, so she had the opportunity to know many people. Taryn swore that she’d spoken to every student in her grade at least once.
She had been voted “Most Athletic Female” in the grade Freshman year, then nominated for the Homecoming Court Sophomore year. Even though she hadn’t been crowned King or Queen, she’d still been thrilled to have the support she did to actually make the court for her class. Surrounded by the large social network was something she’d taken comfort in. Even if her true friends weren’t nearly as numerous as those that had supported her in some way, having people behind her was something she was used to.
Now, however…as she had been since the disastrous Homecoming in Sophomore year…she was alone.
That was something she wasn’t used to.
Sighing a little, she turned and vanished into her room again. She’d been assigned a room the day she’d arrived, and she had brought all of her belongings inside…at least, the ones that belonged inside. Adagio had been housed in the school’s stables, along with his tack and other equipment. Admittedly, she felt as though she should have spent more time in the school than she had in the stables, but she’d felt more comfortable there. She hadn’t hardly unpacked her belongings at all, leaving her room with hardly more decoration than a bed with sheets and boxes stacked on top of, and beneath it.
The door shut fairly quietly behind her, leaving her silent room with a small burst of air behind her. Once she picked her eyes up from the ground, she looked at her belongings. She figured she should unpack them, but…she just wanted to be with Adagio…the one piece of comfort, and memory from home, that she had…
She moved forward, towards the window looking to the outside. She stopped just before it and lightly pressed her forehead against the glass. It was so beautiful out…now she wanted to be outdoors, enjoying the day, rather than cooped up indoors.

without knowing the other had and then figuring it out up at the cash register when the cashier commented on it. The outfit consisted simply of a pair of high-waisted leather shorts and a cute silver top that was similar in length to a tube top but not in slutinesss. With it she wore a pair of sandal-heel-thingies and her favorite jacket. It was a blazer but it showed off her shorter tops perfectly. Standing back from the mirror on the dresser she looked at herself, smiling. She looked like a goddess. She always prided herself on looking good and feeling good about herself. You have to love yourself before you can love someone else. Finally sitting on the corner of her bed she opened the letter with a finely french-manicured nail. Her face was a mixture of emotions, both good and not so good. She was excited because she'd now have a roomie, but that also meant giving up her room with a view of the pool and stables and risk getting a view of the front-gates. Sighing she waved her hand at her room causing two-trunks, two dufflebags and a suitcase to fly from her closet and onto her bed. Another wave and she opened up and her drawers and sent her belongings into them. Shoes in the duffles, clothes in the trunks and bags of cosmetics and shampoo etc. as well as her socks and undergarments into the suitcase. Once she was all packed up she headed towards her new room, followed by her levitating travel-wear. She got to the door and knocked, hoping she hadn't got a quite kid or a whiny roomie.[/ul] (I thot since it took so long that you deserve a long post, oh and the word outfit is a link)
Taryn remained standing in the window. She tapped her head every now and then against the glass, the cold pane sending small bursts of a chill across her forehead, like a stimulant from the warmer room. Drawing her finers up to about chin, level, she absently dragged her fingertips against the glass for a downstroke, but for an upstroke she used her fingernails. Once in a while she alternated the motion by moving her hand to the side, leaving streaks from her fingertips against the window. She supposed she should be unpacking, and working on organizing her things, but she couldn’t at the moment. She wasn’t in the sort of mood to do so.
She admittedly wanted to be home. She wanted to be in a familiar place. She wanted to be outside, in the least. But she couldn’t be almost anyo f those things right now. Her parents were afraid of her. The students she had gone to school with for years and years seemed like something that happened once upon a time because she hadnt seen anybody for so long – not since she last thought she was just another ordinary human. Truly, she had been content with that thought. It still gave her a bit of pleasure even now. Her life had been easier under that illusion...happier – better, even. But that had all changed. The only one close to her from her old life now was Adagio. And he was currently getting adjusted himself to his new surroundings.
Although... she thought. A few flakes of hay later, he probably doesn’t care at all... Taryn figured, smiling a little at the thought of her horse’s attitude towards being uprooted from where he’d been for ages, and then being taken somewhere new with her.
A knock on the door made the girl spin around, looking at the entrance point as though she was expecting somebody to show up immediately. At least they’re being polite.. she thought when nobody came forward. Maybe it was her new roomate?
”Come in..!” she called, trying to sound friendly.
