Baskerville Brothers --> Conan
Alyssa yawned, blinking the sleep from her eyes. Although she had woken up a few hours ago, she was strangely drowsy. It was rare that she stayed up most of the night and got inadequate sleep, but whenever she did the reslt was never good. This, unfortunately, was one of those times. She had to be awake, though, today was an important meeting. She’d met the quota demanded from the other party in todays meeting, and now it was time to get her outcome. She turned her blue eyes to the sky and looked at the position of the sun in the sky as she walked quietly, the Route still fairly deserted despite the fact it was about...nine o’clock in the morning, based on her estimate of the sun’s position above the treeline.
Shrugging slightly, Alyssa pulled the red hoodie tighter around her body by shifting her hands in her pockets. With the hood pulled over her head, only her bangs were visible beneath the rim that the string was lined through. Wintertimes in Unova were much different from Hoenn, they were definitely a bit colder, and the relative shock to the white-haired trainer’s system was something she hadn’t experienced since first venturing to Northern Sinnoh and finding herself unfortunately lost in a blizzard near Snowpoint City.
Thank Arceus the weather here isn’t like that....so far as I know... she thought silently, raising her eyes to look up as sounds met her ears. The amusement park not far in the distance was doing its morning tests before the gates opened to the general public, but other than that there were no other humans in sight that she could see. Pokemon yes, but people, no. A short while passed, and Hoenn’s Leader reached the entrance to the park, where she made herself comfortable leaning against a brick stand.
Now just to wait... she thought. I have a feeling I wont be disappointed...

[style=font-family: arial; word-spacing: 2px; line-height: 11px;] They crunched lightly on the snow as they approached. A set of wine red eyes set their gaze on the field. His crisp, white clothes did not serve as good protection against the cold, but it was enough for him. The cold was comforting. It brought life to his cool, ivory skin, instead of burning him like it should have. Sunglasses never did quite suit him. Dealing with the sunlight was difficult enough without worrying about things like tan lines spread across one's face. To him. that would be far more annoying than shielding his eyes from some dull sun rays.
The chill of winter complimented them quite nicely. It decorated the field with lightest of frost and snow. This sort of weather was always one of the gun dealer's favorite sort of weather. It was pure and kept his clothes and shoes clean, asides from the bit of wetness from when the snow melted. Moreover, it matched their usual bleached clothes. The spots of red only seemed to make him stick out even more, especially the ends of his strands of hair that were stained with red. It was as if he had arrived from a battle, clean aside from the wine red color that "stained" him in a rather artistic manner.
He combed a hand through his hair as he checked the time on his gold watch. Just a little after nine in the morning now. Children were beginning to rouse and leave the warmth of their homes for the excitement that was outside. The weapons dealer wasn't quite late, but he did note how the gates were preparing to open by the time he had arrived. He had been watching at a distance, waiting for this potential customer to arrive, the nox leader of hoenn. How delightful that sounded to his wallet. Unfortunately, it didn't seem like he was able to see that male that brother of his wanted. The other leader of nox, the kanto one. Not yet anyways. Were there some ... difficulties? Hm. This was a test to see her authenticity as a leader. Any troll could claim they were some nox leader. For a leader of nox to obtain a leader from another region to accompany them on a "business trip" should have been easy, shouldn't it? If this were to be a trap ...
The thought made his trigger finger twitch.
It wasn't as if he didn't come prepared, however. Trips like this were common place for him. Meetings with dangerous strangers were common. Money was money in the end. Precautions came with the job. After all, what kind of fool would steal from a weapons' dealer? The only difference this meeting had from all the others was the value person he was bound to see and potentially deal with in the near future. He would do all he can to make sure things went well. This would be one potential customer he wanted to keep. After all, if more nox were exposed to their weaponry, the more customers he might get, which meant more money. Perhaps, even bulk supplies from these nox leaders. He could almost feel the weight in his coat pocket, the one holding his wallet, grow heavy with expectancy.
His gaze flickered to the Ferris Wheel to the woman ahead. As soon as the gates were to open. He was going to take her inside the park. Talking here was nothing but suspicious. The crowds and noise of the amusement park as it fills would be enough cover to keep them anonymous. It was far better to chat and deal there. For now, introductions were safe enough.
The male approached her quietly, almost as if attempting to sneak up on her but not. His steps were just that naturally light. To be quick on one's feet and movements was something he kept up with. It kept him nimble in case of sneak attacks. It did help that his rather minor psychic abilities became helpful at times like these. As long as she didn't use a knife or a pokeball on him, if had she thought of it, of course. In those cases, his athleticism and training was required, regardless of how uncharacteristic of him it may be. An unfit weapon dealer was a dead man in his book.
He bent his head, low enough to see her in the eye before speaking. First impressions were always important. He needed to make the best of this. "Good morning, little miss red riding hood." His tone was not at all unkind or teasing. It was light, a casual remark over how her hood was red. He lifted the hood of her red coat, enough to see her face without having to bend, looking down at her with charming smile. He didn't push to obtain her name. He didn't push for anything else, to be honest. However, it was clear from his posture that he was waiting for her to speak first.
He kept close to her, using his body to cover her face to those who may look their way, not enough to touch the grimy wall as she had, but just enough to give the allusion to whomever were at a distance to assume that they were close. She wasn't that unknown after all. The hood, while not much of a disguise, was better than none at all and he was sure to keep the details on his appearance a secret among his customers. Appearances were important. After all, it was the one thing that defined a person when first spotted, the easiest thing to recall and recognize. "Pardon the closeness." He mentioned in order not to scare her away, not that he believed for a second that it would. "One of the guards was staring at you for a while." He moved his head just enough to point over to where the security guard of the amusement park was. They had already turned and walked away, satisfied to have seen his actions towards her. Just another pair of love birds in their mind, he supposed.
The weapons' dealer was not about to comment on the missing companion of hers, not just yet at least. Perhaps she would explain herself.

He always set an alarm clock for 8:00 in the morning. That was to make sure that he was actually up Of course, then he had a second alarm that usually went off two hours later. That one was the sign to start getting out of bed if he felt like it, key phrase being if he felt like it. Today had been one of those days when he didn't feel like getting up. The cold weather didn't help one bit. Days like this, he wanted to stay under the covers and sleep the day away. Pluto usually had to drag him out of bed and the Umbreon had gotten quite good at it. It usually only took teeth to a blanket and then dragging the blanket out of bed.
This morning, it hadn't been Pluto to come wake him up. Instead, it had been a particular woman who went by the name of Alyssa Akiyama. Oh boy. She was a tyrant when it came to getting people out of bed what's that about getting people into bed? only certain men would be able to tell him that. The woman fucking woke him up with all her fucking pounding on the door at 9 in the morning. He hadn't taken that too well at all. If it had been Leaf, he might have been okay with taking a swing at her because he knew that Leaf would punch him back. It was how things went between the two of them.
So he sulked and seethed a bit as he jogged to catch up with Alyssa's side. Recognizable enough, he had taken to wearing a black fedora. It covered his face, at least, his eyes well enough. And despite the cold temperatures, the sun reflected brightly off the snow like a mirror. It was almost blinding at times. He slid his right hand nonchalantly into the dark jacket that he'd chosen to wear. It had fairly large, deep pockets, perfect for hiding minimized Pokéballs. Of course, agreeing to go to the theme park with Alyssa Akiyama made him an abetter, but he was already too far involved in this game of war. Perhaps the only reason why he was here with Alyssa in the first place was because he was recently selected as Kanto's Nox leader.
As Alyssa leaned against a brick column near the entrance of the theme park, Blue slowed gradually when he noticed a white-haired, red-eyed male making his way towards her. Even as grouchy as he felt, he would not allow harm to befall Alyssa. She was a comrade. He had to keep an eye out for her. But the way that the male acted towards Alyssa caused him to believe that the two of them were close with one another. A slight frown made its way onto Blue's face as Conan apologized for his actions. "Safe to assume that you're close with Akiyama?" |
Blue asked Conan as he approached the pair, eying him up and down. He didn't recognize him, but assumed that if he was acquainted with Alyssa, her affiliation with Nox would be known making Conan a Nox supporter. He'd be safe enough around him. Blue then turned to Alyssa. "... sorry I'm late." It was fucking hard for me to get out of bed this morning, he added mentally.[/style][style=font-size:10px; font-family:tahoma; text-align:center] TAGS Alyssa Conan COUNT 591 orz NOTES sup guys

[/style][style=font-size:7px; font-family:tahoma; letter-spacing:2px]coded by JIN of PRE[/style]
In the short time Alyssa had been standing outside the entrance of the amusement park, it had officially opened, and more people began entering the ‘first’ portion of the park and queuing in line for their official entrance through the gates as soon as they opened. It appeared that their official opening time was actually nine o’clock, though they still used the last few minutes of peace from quests to test the machines. Sensible, it never hurts to test something multiple times before assuring it’s fine and correctly functioning… she thought, watching the people pass with the growing sense that more would be arriving as it neared ten o’clock, seeing as nine was still apparently early for some…a prominent example of that day being Blue. The lazy bum hadn’t responded to her pounding on the door to get him out of bed. That was a problem. She’d had full intentions of making a good first impression, but with no Blue (yet) that chance was struck through the heart like an arrow through an apple.
I suppose we can’t all be early birds… she thought, though the prospect of Blue not showing up for the entire time she was to meet with them was unnerving. His lack of appearance would be a cold mark on her record with them. Blue was the subject of what she knew was a test to see if she was the real deal as she’d claimed over the phone – Hoenn’s Leader for Nox. I would not be doubted so soon if it were a test of other standards…I wouldn’t have to weigh my chances on a…lazy bum… she thought, finding no better word for Blue at the time. Her thoughts were interrupted by the stirring feeling that she was no longer alone. Angling her head slightly to see out from beneath her hood, she looked through her white bangs at a young man approaching, almost silently. If she’d not noticed the crawling sensation that she were being watched, he would have been able to approach her without notice.
Though her hood fell down mostly before her eyes, they were still visible to one that looked at her from the right angle, and the young man she hoped assumed was Conan Baskerville moved in accordance with it. ”Good morning, little miss red riding hood.” It took her a moment to realize that he was referring to her attire, specifically the red hoodie she now wore. She saw his hand out of the corner of her eye when he moved the hood back to see her whole face, not just the shadowed-over portion that was left revealed by the hood. She looked up at him, waiting a moment before returning the smile upon his face with a small one of her own. Though it was more of a neutral smile for now, seeing as they had not confirmed anything or even so much as spoken outside of the small comment Conan.
She noticed his position second, after only briefly moving her eyes from his gaze to look at him entirely, to add to the small mental file she made that was labeled with his name, trying to create a person with an appearance rather than simply a voice and a name. He stood before her, close and shielding her face from view of curious onlookers that may have passed. She stood straighter, pulling her shoulders easily off the wall as she did so, though the proper posture did little to change the height at which she stood. The proximity at which he stood from her was something that would normally have startled another person, however, Hoenn’s Leader remained passive to it, waiting for an explanation, which she soon got.
…so that’s what I was feeling… before she had become more interested with the sensation that he watched her with a certain intent, a slighter, less-noticeable feeling of being watched had sat at the back of her mind as well, though it wasn’t exactly something she would be too concerned about. Her blue eyes moved to merely glance at the back of the guard he motioned to before returning her eyes to his red ones.
”Pardoned.” she said easily, giving a small nod. ”I suppose I should thank you for that.” she told him, giving a small shrug to accompany it. Although it wasn’t much of a heroic deed or anything of the sort, she didn’t exactly appreciate being stared at. Cheering from the crowd met her ears seconds after the sound of a gate opening did, and she briefly looked away. The main gates had opened. That was a more ideal place to speak, though she would wait for the weapons dealer to make his move first.
”Am I to assume you are Conan Baskerville?” she asked quietly, trusting that she had not been fooled by the three brothers, and this was who she had contacted only a few days prior. His voice was the same, but anybody could provide a name through a phone, as he had stated when she did. ”If that’s –“ she cut off when she heard a familiar voice, though she had not seen the owner approach through the man before her.
”Safe to assume that you’re close with Akiyama?”
Alyssa raised her eyebrow slightly and looked around the Baskerville’s shoulder to see Blue standing before her as he turned more to face her. ”…Sorry I’m late.”
The Veteran Trainer stared at him for a moment before speaking. ”Well, at least you showed up…” she said, glancing at Conan, before silently adding …lazy bum. Do you have any idea what sort of mental roller coaster I’ve been having?. There was her end of the bargain, as promised. She would have gotten Blue in contact with Conan one way or another. If there was one thing she did well, it was keep promises she made.
I’ll let him take the question… she thought, pulling her hands out of her pockets, where they’d dropped to.
