Alyssa's Skarmory is killed
Stepping off the back of her Skarmory and adjusting her glasses as her feet hit the ground, Alyssa allowed herself to stretch slightly. It had been a long flight from Goldenrod to Cherrygrove, and unfortunately on the way the suit she was wearing – in lieu of a sweatervest given the fact that she had her brown wig for the guise of Wolfgang – had been rained upon as they departed the busy city and Alyssa was relatively unprepared for the weather – as per usual.
”I need to dry off…” she murmured to the Skarmory, whom she’d only caught recently. The bird gave a slight head tilt and looked at the trainer. ”Just stay here.” she told it. ”You can go to sleep or something. It will take me a while.” It stared blankly at her before going to pecking about on the ground. Shrugging, Alyssa went inside, the backpack on her back containing her change of clothes.
As she entered the building, the Skarmory promptly settled to the ground and shut its eyes. Not exactly the most intelligent of its breed, it didn’t think twice about potential dangers lurking while its trainer was nowhere to be seen.

Well, Apollo hadn't been having a good day and neither had Hector. Some Nox members had been circulating a pamphlet about his infatuation with trees who the fuck started that rumor, he was going to make sure that heads rolled. He needed to hurt something and the closest thing around was the unfortunate Skarmory. Apollo was displeased about his trainer being slandered and without any word from his trainer, unleashed a powerful Flame Burst in the direction of the Skarmory. The metal bird would pay for those embarrassing stories. No one was supposed to know that he was a tree-hugger. Where the hell had they found that information?
And before Hector could stop his Pokémon, the Manectric had fried the metal Pokémon alive, only adding a Thunder for good measure. Hector barely blinked as his Pokémon inflicted the damage.
"... well, no use crying over spilled milk."
There was no reason to stick around after the Manectric had made Johto Fried Skarmory out of the Pokémon so after hmph'ing, he continued on his merry way north of Cherrygrove with Apollo, only to be stopped by two fucking kids taking up the entire route with a lame battle between their Rattatta and Nidoran. One of them insisted that it was a 10% TOP PERCENTAGE RATTATTA. It was obviously deserving of taking up the entire damn route for its battle. Ah. So this was the infamous Youngster Joey.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
It had been a long while since Alyssa entered the Pokemon Center. She hated having to leave her pokemon alone for ‘x’ amount of time while she waited for the hands on the clock to turn on by. It was dangerous to go into a building as one person then leave a short time later as another, for her it was dangerous. Nothing she could do about the turn of events in the war though, and how they’d affected her in addition to her lifestyle.
After thirty minutes had passed, she exited to find a group of people standing in her way, apparently looking at something that would have been as interesting as if a TOP 10% RATTATA defeated the entire Elite Four of Johto in one fell swoop, and further even the Champion. Pushing her way through the crowd, Alyssa stopped in shock when she saw her Skarmory. It’s entire metal body was browned with rust and it was even steaming. ”Arceus…no…” she said silently, not having a care in the world that she was in the middle of Lux territory undisguised.
She crouched down, pulling her dead bird’s head into her lap, the hot metal scorching her hands slightly.
”Skarmory…” She hadn’t had the pokemon for long, and no tears welled within her. What the hell had attacked him and why. That or who? And once again, why.
Sadness welled within her and she bowed her head, honoring the lost life of her pokemon.
MEANWHILE, Youngster Joey faced off against School Kid Brandon, and his TOP 10% RATTATA defeated that Nido as easily as it had stood up to face him. With the payment from the battle, the route was clear.
